    PE & Sport Premium

The PE and Sport Premium is government funding provided to primary schools to improve the quality of physical education, sport, and physical activity for all pupils. At Three Lane Ends Academy, we use this funding to ensure that every child has access to high-quality PE lessons, a wide range of sporting opportunities, and positive experiences that support healthy, active lifestyles.

Our aim is to develop pupils’ physical skills, confidence, and enjoyment of sport, while encouraging lifelong participation in physical activity.

How We Use the PE and Sport Premium

The PE and Sport Premium is used to:

    • Improve the quality of PE teaching and learning
    • Increase participation in physical activity and school sport
    • Provide opportunities to experience a broad range of sports and activities

Develop pupils’ physical confidence, teamwork, and resilience

    • Support staff training and professional development in PE
    • Promote healthy, active lifestyles across the school

We carefully plan, monitor, and evaluate how the funding is spent to ensure it has a positive and lasting impact on pupils.

    Swimming Provision and Outcomes

As part of the PE and Sport Premium requirements, schools must publish information about swimming provision and outcomes by the end of Key Stage 2.

By the end of Year 6, pupils are expected to:

    • Swim competently, confidently, and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres
    • Use a range of strokes effectively, including front crawl, backstroke, and breaststroke
    • Perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations

Each year, we review swimming outcomes for our Year 6 pupils and use PE and Sport Premium funding, where appropriate, to support swimming provision and improve outcomes for all children.

    Impact and Accountability

Schools are required to publish details of how the PE and Sport Premium is spent and the impact it has on pupils. We regularly review our provision to ensure the funding is used effectively and continues to enhance PE and sport for all children.
