If your family is on a low income or receives certain benefits, your child may be eligible for free school meals. All meals provided by the school meet national nutritional standards, ensuring a healthy, balanced diet to help children concentrate and make the most of their learning.

Registering for free school meals not only supports your child but also helps the school. The number of pupils registered affects the funding we receive through the Pupil Premium, which allows us to invest in raising attainment and closing the gap for disadvantaged pupils.

Who is eligible?

You may be eligible for free school meals if you receive any of the following:

• Income Support
• Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
• Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
• Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
• The guaranteed element of State Pension Credit
• Child Tax Credit (if you’re not entitled to Working Tax Credit and your annual gross income is £16,190 or less)
• Working Tax Credit run-on (paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying)
• Universal Credit (applied on or after 1 April 2018, household income less than £7,400 per year after tax, excluding benefits)
