Governance

Three Lane Ends Academy is proud to be part of Castleford Trust. The Trust Board of Members and Trustees oversees the strategic direction and legal responsibilities of all Castleford Trust academies. Many aspects of the Board’s work are delegated to each academy’s Local Governing Body, in line with the Castleford Trust - Scheme of Delegation

Our team of governors is dedicated and actively involved in the life of the academy. They represent the wider community, including parent and staff representatives, and bring a wealth of experience, perspective, and commitment to their role. In addition to attending meetings, governors carry out visits to the academy to engage with staff and pupils and triangulate information, gaining a first-hand understanding of academy life.

Governors play a vital role in supporting and challenging the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team. They act as “critical friends,” helping to ensure the academy provides the best education, opportunities, and experiences for every pupil.
