At Three Lane Ends Academy, we are proud of our dedicated and talented team, who are committed to helping every pupil reach their full potential. Guided by our vision of working together to achieve excellence for all and our values of Care, Aspire, Succeed, our staff inspire and support pupils every day.
The Academy is led by our Headteacher Miss D Roberts, supported by her dynamic team of senior leaders and staff.
We believe that an exceptional education is only possible with great people. That’s why we focus on recruiting passionate and skilled staff and investing in their continuous professional development.
Every member of our team plays a vital role in creating a supportive, ambitious, and caring environment where pupils can thrive academically, socially, and personally.
Headteacher & DSL
Having worked at Three Lane Ends Academy for the past eight years, I am immensely proud to fulfil the role of Headteacher and to work alongside dedicated colleagues both within the academy and across the Trust. Together, we are committed to our shared vision of “working together to achieve excellence for all.”
At the heart of our work is a steadfast commitment to supporting the growth and success of our pupils, staff and families, both academically and pastorally. Our core values of Care, Aspire, Succeed underpin every decision we make and every action we take, ensuring that the needs and wellbeing of our community remain central to all that we do.
We are passionate about creating an environment where every child is encouraged to flourish, develop confidence and realise their full potential. By nurturing these same values in our pupils, we prepare them to become responsible, compassionate and active contributors to society, equipped with the skills and character needed to succeed in an ever-changing world.
Deputy Headteacher
Since joining Three Lane Ends Academy, my career in education has truly flourished. I began as a class teacher and, within 18 months, progressed to an Assistant Head position. Just two years later, I was appointed Deputy Headteacher. Opportunities for development and progression are not only supported here—they are actively encouraged.
It is refreshing to work for a Trust that genuinely lives its vision: “Working Together to Achieve Excellence for All.” This commitment is evident in the way staff, as well as pupils, are championed to achieve their full potential.
In recent years, we have worked hard to build a strong, inclusive community at Three Lane Ends, where all stakeholders are deeply committed to providing the very best opportunities for the children in our care. We truly live and breathe our values—Care, Aspire, Succeed—and strive to model to our pupils that anything is possible with determination and ambition, regardless of background. As someone who grew up locally in a working-class family, this message is especially meaningful to me.
There is a genuine sense of belonging, both within the Academy and across the Trust, which makes coming to work each day a pleasure. I feel incredibly lucky—and truly proud—to be part of such a dedicated and inspiring team.
Assistant Headteacher
Over the past five years at Three Lane Ends Academy, I have been fortunate to grow both personally and professionally within a school and trust that truly lives its vision of “Working together to achieve excellence for all.” I joined the academy as a class teacher in September 2021, and within twelve months I progressed to Assistant Headteacher.
In September 2024, I was proud to take on the role of SENCo, a position that has allowed me to deepen my impact on children, families, and colleagues across the school. Throughout this journey, Three Lane Ends Academy and Castleford Academy Trust have consistently invested in my development, supporting me to complete my NPQSL in 2024 and, most recently, my NPQ SENCO.
Three Lane Ends is an incredibly supportive, forward‑thinking school where every stakeholder—staff member, family, governor, and most importantly child—are all united by a shared determination to achieve the very best. Our core values of ‘Care, Aspire, and Succeed’ are at the forefront of everything that we do. Being part of this community is a privilege, and I feel immensely proud to have contributed to the academy’s ongoing journey.
Working at Three Lane Ends Academy has shaped me into the leader I am today, and I remain deeply grateful for the opportunities, encouragement, and unwavering belief that the school and trust have shown in me.
Assistant Headteacher
Working at Three Lane Ends Academy has been the most rewarding experience of my 15‑year teaching career. I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of a Senior Leadership Team that is genuinely passionate about its staff and invests in them both professionally and personally. I feel valued, supported, and truly seen.
This sense of care extends across the wider Trust. I can tangibly feel our Trust vision — “Working together to achieve excellence for all” — in every decision and action. Everyone here is committed to improving the life chances of every child we teach and enriching our local communities with a legacy of empowered, enthusiastic, and compassionate young people.
The environment I work in has given me the confidence to achieve more than I ever thought possible.
